Mosaic Stepping Stones

Karri creating mosaic stoneKarri has been creating stepping stones and teaching classes for 10 years and loves the creative process that unfolds with the scraps of colorful glass.  The process is very simple.  First she comes up with a design idea, puts together a sketch and then proceeds to cut out the mosaic shapes from the scrap glass.  Then she mixes thin-set mortar with cement pigment and applies it to an already pre-formed stone.  When all the pieces are transferred, she pushes them down into the thin-set mortar.  After the stone has dried, the final process is a thick layer of clear polyurethane spray which helps protect the surface from weathering.

Karri is available for workshops and personally commissioned stones or birdbaths.  Download a flyer.  Please contact Karri at 360-220-0795 or KStreetStaging@aol.com for more information.
